Project SEED’s Live AMA in October 13th, 2022: Playing and Earning for FREE
This time’s AMA (Ask-Me-Anything) is a little more special than usual as Project SEED is having the studio’s very own CEO, Liko Subakti, to hold the event.
The event was planned to go on Thursday, October 13th, 2022 and the responses using #SEEDVOICE hashtag since October 11th have been overwhelming. Even prior to the event, a total of more than 500 questions have been asked on Twitter and Telegram channels to Project SEED.
Read on to find out about the questions asked in AMA as it might answer some of your very own questions!
Pre-Event Questions in Outland Odyssey’s Economy
The submitted questions were screened and selected, only twelve questions were chosen in the pre-AMA submission with the remaining three questions open to the live audience.
Topics are varying from Project SEED future plan, Outland Odyssey’s development, to SHILL uses.
One recurring inquiry that surfaced was about how Outland Odyssey is bridging a conventional gaming experience with the crypto element within it. Questions about this topic turned into specifics, for example:
- Why is Outland Odyssey created to be user-friendly to non-crypto players?
- How about the option of NFT and generating income from the game?
- How will the game fare in midst of competition and sustain its play-and-earn environment if it’s a free-to-play?
Outland Odyssey Promises a Free to Play-and-Earn
Project SEED understands how people are curious to find out the peculiarity: “a FREE to play but a play-and-earn?”
Project SEED is first and foremost a game studio developer, hence the game must be entertaining, ensuring a joyful experiment. The studio’s game is meant to be different from a usual crypto game, where farming, earning, and grinding, turn the game into a boring and chore-like experience. This showed up in Liko’s answers to questions about Outland Odyssey’s value proposition, sustaining the game economy, and onboarding new players.
Liko explained how the game’s unique proposition lies in its playability as a genuine game to have a fun experience, to play at leisure instead of for monetary chasing. The game can adopt a Free-to-Play since it has its roots in the conventional gaming system, so the game economy is sustained through in-app purchases, marketplace revenue, and partner program, unlike other crypto games that rely on NFT sales and fundraising. The token economy also circulates and is recycled as revenue, e.g. the portion of the token that will be burned. The time spent to generate NFT will later be the source for players to earn income and cash out from their generated revenue. The combination of token economy and conventional fun gaming experience is what makes Outland Odyssey stand out in midst of competition.
The conventional gaming experience also applies to onboarding conventional gamers as well as diversified KOLs from both crypto and non-crypto environments. Liko also mentioned how gamers are naturally attracted to a game that let them have fun, not caring about the bull market as the gameplay itself is the bargaining value to stick with for a long time.
The discussion went for an hour and there were three extra questions being asked near the end of the AMA. Liko assured listeners and askers about the game’s future growth and plan for a second game. He also ensures that the final release would smoothly integrate wallet options, have NFT cards as advertised in early video, and is positively looking at the availability for multiplayer and e-sports competition.
