Outland Odyssey: Early Test Recap
Today Project SEED is excited to share key analytics and feedback from users that participated in our first Early Test of Outland Odyssey. We would like to thank all 275 SHILL holders for registering and 200 official testers who were selected to join and give feedback on this demo version test. It is our pleasure to have offered you the firsthand experience of Outland Odyssey and its enticing gaming world. Let’s learn more about how the Early Test has performed and the feedback that we’ve been collecting to make the best Outland Odyssey.
Overall Analytics
In total, there were more than 7,000 Zeds defeated with 79 victorious Boss battles. Breaking it down, we have 6 types of Zeds in this test, ranked in order of quantity as follows: Rammum, Oris, Moloch, Bogzar, Kanid, and Dakk. Our early testers have thrashed nearly 2,000 Rammums but saved a lot fewer sword swings for Dakks as there were only 995 of them being defeated. In the world of Outland Odyssey, they are 2 very different types of Zeds with distinct behaviors, characteristics, and attacking moves that encourage players to use various suitable skills to combat.
Weighing up to 2,300 kg with 2,2 m in height, Dakk is a solitary, yet fearless and aggressive Zed. They were once thought to be extinct, but those crashed carts across Westbarren proved otherwise. Rammum, on the other hand, is much lighter than Dakk with only 180 kg in weight and carries a carapace made of sharp-edged bands running down its back. The other Zeds also have unique stats of height, weight, habitat, diet, special moves that lead a diverse combat gameplay for the players.
On average, each tester played around 20 minutes, totaling 44 hours of playing experience. There were 495 maps finished among 668 maps started. This shows 74% of fully completed quests in this test.
Tester Feedback
We have also been collecting feedback from all the official Early Testers about their experience in this demo game testing event so far. Your opinion is important to us in developing and improving the game for you and all other users.
Now let’s take a look at some key insights from our last survey of the test. On a scale from 1 to 5 (very poor — very excellent), level 4 accounted for the most rated rank (25.8%), followed by 3 (28.4%) and 5 (26.9%). This overall rating indicates that the players have had a generally favorable experience with our test.
In general, people loved the graphics, sound effects, and background music in the test. Some have described the auditory features of our game as “epic”, reminiscent of classic RPGs like Chrono Trigger or Legend of Mana. Smooth gameplay and navigation were also mentioned by a lot of testers as a highlighted bonus point, especially for an early version.
However, there were also several issues that our players encountered when playing the game. One of the major drawbacks we received from testers was the heat problem. A number of people have experienced their phones overheating after 30 minutes. Despite a majority rating of a smooth interface, there were also some delayed movements while dodging or trying skills to fight Zeds.
The suggestions our testers gave are very detailed and helpful in making a better version of Outland Odyssey in the future. We are all very impressed with these recommendations to improve the combat skills and missions, or even create a champion for each territory!
